Introduction

I'm a passionate environmentalist currently living in Brooklyn but getting ready to transition out to the country in the coming months. Permacuture, self-reliance, post peak oil preparedness... the works!

What kind of invisible structure ideas do you favor?

I favour tangible actions over endless theorising.

Have you completed the PDC course and been certified? Diploma?

No. I've been studying on my own and attending various short courses covering a broad set of skills. We all have different ways of preparing.

Are you currently in an ecovillage, organizing one, or would you be interested to join one?

I'd love to turn Bed-Stuy into a giant ecovillage! I believe sustainable urban agriculture is a great community building tool specially in the inner city.

Do you have a place to apply permaculture designs?

Don't we all?

Would you be interested in taking a PDC course?

Not in the near future. The investment of time and $$$ is beyond my means right now. I'm more interested in applying the knowledge I've already acquired.

It is very stimulating and encouraging to meet others who are actually doing something about "it". The networking aspect is a big plus for me and so are the related event updates. As for the meetings, I wish they went beyond the brief "Hi my name is" and rhetorical debates. Courses and theories are a good thing no doubt but there's so much more to this! I'm genuinely interested in hearing what you are doing and planning on doing in the near future. I want to focus on the here and now.
