Attend a presentation about bike carting at the Community
Board 8 Sanitation and Environmental Committee meeting.

 
Bike carting is now being done in Williamsburg, in Northhampton MA and
Philadelphia.

Picking up the organic wastes from restaurants, coffee bars and juice
bars in our neighborhoods with bike carts and converting these
materials to compost will create living wage jobs for under-employed
youth in our communities, decrease the truck traffic on our congested
streets and provide much needed compost for community gardens.

To find out how we can make this happen in North Central Brooklyn, I
would encourage all community gardeners and permaculturists to attend this presentation.

To get to this location, take the 2,3,4 or 5 train to Franklin Avenue.  Walk north down the hill  to Park Place.  Turn right and turn right again on Classon.  727 Classon will be on your right.
