Work day at Imani Garden. We'll be completing the mulching job.

Imani Garden (map)

Selected By: Greg Todd

We'll picking up wood chips at the East New York Farms and bringing back to Imani II to finish the mulching we started a few weeks ago.

Bring a pair of work gloves if you have them.

We'll be providing a bonfire fire and hot soup to keep you warm.

Imani I and II feature 10 raised planting beds,  a 50 chicken egg CSA, water harvesting system, a food forest and soon a solar powered pond system.  Our orientation is permaculture, that is, a garden design focusing on food production that minimizes waste and incorporates local resources whenever possible.  Show up at 10:30 AM if you'd like a tour.

The Imani's are located on Schenectady Avenue in Crown Heights/Weeksville, bet. Dean Street and Pacific Street.  You can take the A train to Utica, then walk south towards Atlantic on Utica.  Cross Atlantic then turn right on Pacific.  Imani II is on the corner of Schenectady and Pacific, one block from Utica.
