This is for general networking and to meet/help Permies in NYC.

What is everyone working on and where? Who is available to help each other with projects? (where can you help out and when are you available)

Is the first Tuesday of each month a good night for meeting? Does the lower east side work for everyone? (if not, RSVP "no" with a comment of when/where you can make it in the future)

A $5 donation will be optional for our meetups. Proceeds help sponsor PDC students, establish and maintain demonstration sites, purchase land for a land trust network, and other sustainable culture educational projects in the Northeast. The PayPal link sends a donation to Green Phoenix Permaculture, a 501c3 organization.

We may have overshot Earth Matters' carrying capacity.

    I think that's a great idea, Frances!

I would suggest that we check out The Commons in Brooklyn for a future meet up. (388 Atlantic Ave). I think we might be getting too large for Earth Matters.

YES and Yum! The food is really delish. A small bowl of selection is enough to fill me up. I look forward to this group not only for the Earth Matters meeting but an opp to have some tasty goodness, a smoothie juice and local tap beer -- all reasonably priced :}. In the past, I and we have eaten after the meeting.

Let's all remember that Earth Matters is a business and we will be taking up a considerable amount of space there. We need to buy some food and drinks from them if we are going to continue meeting there. If our group gets much bigger, we may need to find somewhere that would cost money anyway. Perhaps we could discuss larger venues.

    Thanks

Hi everyone. I'm new to this group and new to learning about permaculture. I write for the Green Times, a new news section of the Manhattan Times (northern Manhattan based newspaper). I'm trying to learn more about permaculture and figure out if it makes sense to write a feature article about it, or about this group. If anyone's up for talking about possibilities for an article, during or after the meeting, let me know.
